How to Play Kitchen Sniffle

Welcome to Kitchen Sniffle! The goal is to guess the mystery kitchen ingredient of the day using a series of clues based on its properties.

Making a Guess:

Type the name of an ingredient you think might be the answer into the guess box and click "Guess".

Understanding Feedback:

After each guess, you'll get feedback on four categories:

• Name: (Shown in the shareable result)
  • ✅ Your guessed ingredient IS the mystery ingredient!
  • ❌ Your guessed ingredient IS NOT the mystery ingredient.
• Colour:
  • ✅ The colour of your guessed ingredient MATCHES the mystery ingredient's colour.
  • ❌ The colour of your guessed ingredient DOES NOT MATCH.
• Flavour Profile:
  • ✅ The flavour profile (e.g., Sweet, Sour, Umami) of your guessed ingredient MATCHES.
  • ❌ The flavour profile DOES NOT MATCH.
• Food Group/Type: This gives combined feedback.
  • ✅ Both the Food Group (e.g., Fruit, Vegetable, Protein) AND the specific Type (e.g., Citrus, Root, Poultry) of your guessed ingredient MATCH the mystery ingredient. Congratulations, that's a strong clue!
  • 🟨 The Food Group of your guessed ingredient MATCHES, but the specific Type is different. You're on the right track with the broader category!
  • ❌ The Food Group of your guessed ingredient DOES NOT MATCH.

Example Feedback Line (in shareable result): ❌ - ✅❌🟨
This means: Name was incorrect. Colour was correct. Flavour was incorrect. Food Group was correct, but Type was different.

Using Hints:

If you're stuck, you can click the "💡 Get Hint" button. Each click will reveal one more letter of the mystery ingredient's name, starting from the first letter. Hints will be shown in your shareable result too!

Giving Up:
