Your data powers the game: leaderboards, statistics, achievements, and progress tracking. That's it. No advertising, no analytics, no third-party data sharing.
Data is stored on Railway's cloud platform (EU/US servers). We also use Cloudflare (DNS/protection), Resend (email delivery), and optionally Google OAuth. None receive more data than necessary.
When you delete your account, your identity is removed and leaderboard entries show as "Anonymous Chef." Gameplay statistics remain anonymised for community features.
Passwords are hashed, connections use HTTPS, database access is restricted, and we run daily backups. It's a hobby project, not a bank—but we take reasonable precautions.
KitSniff is family-friendly but we don't knowingly collect data from under-13s. Contact us if you believe a child has registered.

About KitSniff
KitSniff is a daily puzzle game where you identify mystery ingredients based on their culinary properties: colour, flavour, food group, and type. Guess the ingredient, unlock recipes, fill your pantry, and explore culinary origins from around the world.
In May 2025, someone with no software development experience had an idea for an ingredient-guessing game and decided to see what happens trying to launch an entire web application through AI-assisted development.
It all started on a Raspberry Pi serving friends and family, and graduated to proper cloud hosting in February 2026.
Disclaimer: every single line of code was generated by AI. Although it's not as simple as "push button, receive app".
Human designs the menu and runs the kitchen, AI cooks up the recipes. Both essential, neither can function in isolation.
Conceived every feature. Curated 250+ ingredients with (mostly) accurate properties. Designed 50+ (somewhat) achievable and (partially) culinary-aligned recipes. Tested everything personally. Runs the whole operation.
