Your data powers the game: leaderboards, statistics, achievements, and progress tracking. That's it. No advertising, no analytics, no third-party data sharing.
Data is stored on Railway's cloud platform (EU/US servers). We also use Cloudflare (DNS/protection), Resend (email delivery), and optionally Google OAuth. None receive more data than necessary.
When you delete your account, your identity is removed and leaderboard entries show as "Anonymous Chef." Gameplay statistics remain anonymised for community features.
Passwords are hashed, connections use HTTPS, database access is restricted, and we run daily backups. It's a hobby project, not a bank—but we take reasonable precautions.
KitSniff is family-friendly but we don't knowingly collect data from under-13s. Contact us if you believe a child has registered.

About KitSniff
KitSniff is a daily puzzle game where you identify mystery ingredients based on their culinary properties—colour, flavour, food group, and type. Guess the ingredient, unlock recipes, fill your pantry, and explore culinary origins from around the world.
In May 2025, someone with zero coding experience and an idea for an ingredient-guessing game decided to see what happens when you build an entire web application through AI collaboration.
Nine months later: KitSniff. It started on a Raspberry Pi serving friends and family, and graduated to proper cloud hosting in February 2026.
Every line of code was generated by AI. But this wasn't "push button, receive app"—it was a genuine collaboration:
Think of it as: human designs the menu and runs the kitchen, AI executes the recipes. Both essential, neither works alone.
All Python code, HTML/CSS, database design, game logic, achievement systems, the culinary map, this About page—everything technical. The human directed the style, specified the content, and approved the results.
